This explains what DetailerHQ does with personal information. It covers two different things: information about you, the detailer, and information about your customers, which we only ever handle on your behalf.
Questions, or want a copy of your data? Email karoltyrakowski@gmail.com.
1. Your account (we decide — we're the controller)
When you sign up we collect your name, business name, email address, chosen web address and the details of your subscription. Your card details go straight to Stripe — we never see or store the full number.
We use this to give you the service, take payment, send you service emails (a receipt, a problem with your card, an important change), and to answer you when you get in touch. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
2. Your customers' details (you decide — we're the processor)
Bookings, names, addresses, phone numbers, vehicles and your private notes belong to your business. You decide what to collect and why; we store and process it only to provide DetailerHQ to you, and only as your instructions and these terms allow.
We do not sell it, we do not market to your customers, and we do not use it to contact them for our own purposes. If you leave, we delete it on request and in any case within 90 days of your site being closed.
You are the data controller for that information, which means answering your customers' data requests is your responsibility — we'll help you do it, and the dashboard lets you export or delete a customer at any time.
3. Who else is involved
We use a small number of well-known suppliers, and only what the service needs:
- Vercel — hosting the websites and dashboards.
- Neon — the database, hosted in the EU/UK.
- Stripe — payments, both your subscription and your customers' payments to you.
- Resend — sending booking emails and reminders.
Each is bound to protect the data and use it only to provide their service to us.
4. Visitor statistics
Detailer sites count page views to show the business how many people visited. Visitors are counted with a short-lived, random id — no cross-site tracking, no advertising networks, and the cookie banner asks first.
5. How long we keep things
Account and billing records are kept for as long as you're a customer and for six years afterwards, because tax law requires it. Everything else goes within 90 days of your site closing, or sooner if you ask.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within a month. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
